SUMMER, SUMMER, SUMMER TIME!

Ok, well, its spring actually, but I'm looking forward to summer and I  decided to welcome her pleasant sister spring this weekend by attending the spring bash festival. I was feeling good and looking like a done deal in my black and yellow.

Glad to be back from my blogging break, I need it every now and then to regroup and fall in love with blogs again. I got this skirt from Identity, the peplum top and ankle strap wedges from Foschini, my shades from Edgars, the clothes are all size 40! Wowza, that's my size.

I'm always so worried about my legs, feel insecure every now and then because I feel like my body is disproportionate, however, can we all just take a moment to recognise the beauty that is my legs!!! LOL.

I've been bitten by this crop top trend. I haven't seen one around that I like so I improvised and made myself one. My photos are incredibly blurry which makes me very sad. I dropped my new camera two days ago and its been malfuntioning since.  These pictures were taken with my phone, I'm happy with how I look but I apologise for the blur.

Two for one - Fall fatshionably into autumn with me

The idea behind this outfit was to combine Tuesday and Wednesday's outfit challange into one.
They were Dark Hues with a touch of gold for Tuesday.
Something African Print for Wednesday.
The amount of fun I had being in this outfit is crazy and I got some complements from the old folks I was working with in our QwaQwa offices, one woman told me I had given her flash backs of her trending in her twenties. Hahaha.

Fall fatshionably into autumn with black and white

It'sI was supposed to upload these pictures two nights ago on Monday, however I was extremely exhausted I decided to take a nap and wake up a little after 12 to upload but I only woke up at 4am just in time to get ready for work. Work itself was crazy yesterday, I left for QwaQwa a town in the Free State Province South Africa to for work purposes. That is a five hour drive from my city to this town and a 5 hour drive back which I made this morning a little after 11.
I only managed to snap the outfit pics from today(Wednesday) as yesterday was a complete write off. Pictures of today's outfit are to follow in the next post, in this post I hope you will enjoy looking at these houndstooth pants as much as I enjoyed wearing them.

Fall fatshionably into autumn with us

Hi ladies!
I recently discovered a new South African Plus Blogger,I cannot tell you how excited I was when I came across her blog. I am always excited to make new friends and to meet new people that have an interest in stuff I'm interested in, so I rushed to her "contact me" page got her e-mail address and sent her a proposal I had for a fashion collaboration. Nothing fancy, just two girls trying to brave the cool autumn weather as fatshionably as possible. So, please join us on this week long journey. We'll be uploading our looks daily under this "movement" we have decided to call Fatshionably falling into autumn.
Check out her blog at CurvyGirlStyleSA

The idea here is to dress up the chosen colors/trend for each day in your own unique way. The style trends/colors or choices are as follows;
In other news, follow me on instagram where I go by the name @missphookie, I love to follow back so do it to it!

SHORT SHORTING IT "#scbreakingalltherules"

So ... I love these shorts, I feel good in these shorts, my mom could not stand me in these shorts, she thought I was insane, in her own words she said I have no boundaries, hahaha!
It really felt good to be in them and to "break fashion rules" as Alissa puts in on her blog, check it out and join the movement.

I paired this outfit with these sheer blackmail stockings, I was actually experimenting with them and ended up loving the overall combination.

As you can see, I'm rocking the sneaker wedge. This is a trend I could not pass up, comfort, warmth and cuteness all in ONE shoe?! I had to get me a pair!

The color purple

The colour purple is beautiful, I bought this dress two years ago for a friend's wedding and I must say it fit less snug around the hips and belly two years ago. Weight gain though art a heartless B!

I have this terrible habit of buying beautiful pieces for a particular occasion and feel bad if I wear that particular piece for any other event that is not as "glamorous" as the initial occasion it was bought for.
For example, this dress was bought for a wedding, I would feel terribly bad if I were to wear it to drinks date or something. I'm weired like that.

I wore it to the Easter service on Friday as I realised that weight gain much like time waits for no man! I was glad to be at church, I go to Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church and it is amazing!

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter weekend!

I absolutely love the ruching on this dress, its great to look at and is also a great secret weapon for ladies with a chubby belly, it masks a visible tummy.

FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN

Apparently today is the first day of autumn here in South Africa, I'm really excited to see summer leave us. What a sweltering summer we have had, just uncomfortably hot.

This is a typical work ootd when I'm not trying to be in heels. Fortunately my office enviroment allows for me to be dressed down when I want to be.

Denim Shirt: Edgars
Royal blue pencil skirt: Mr. Price
White shirt: Edgars
Blue flats: Fashion World
Purple earrings: Fashion Express
Can we just praise the Lord for these denim shirts?! I absolutely love my denim shirt I have actually over worn it.

Black and white on black

Hi Everyone!
Firstly. Let me thank everyone who commented in my last post and a very warm welcome to all of my new followers. I really enjoy having you guys show up on the blog, keep coming :)
This is not really much of an ootd post, I thought I should come
through and show face it has been too long!

Let me catch you guys up, I celebrated my 26th birthday 2 weeks ago on the 9th of March. I spent it indoors, watching the Friday Triolgy, Bridesmaids and The Help. The older I get the less fussy I find I am with how I spend my bday.

Outfit below is from a chilled Saturday spent about town. I'm enjoying my braids and really enjoying walking around in flats.

I'm a bad bitch that's my fucking problem

I felt so fierce in my new CORAL SENSATION lip colour by Yardley, I felt like I was channelling my inner bad bitch, add the neon yellow skirt  and I became the bad bitch! Really had fun with this outfit, even though I have not made peace with the size of my tummy I felt great in this outfit.

2013 and I'm a blogger back on track

Good day fellow bloggers and good followers of mine!
After I ditched the Big Fat Summer Challenge halfway, I made a decision to delete the blog and stop blogging altogether. Reason behind it being that I was not feeling very good about my body during that time. I felt fat. Well, I know I'm not exactly thin, but I felt extraordinarily fat and very disproportionate at the time. I just could not understand what the hell was going on with my body. Secondly, I did not have a camera and I was not about to buy another camera only to take pictures of a body that I felt was being very uncooperative.

I would go through all of my favourite blogs and be in such awe and be so envious of fellow fatshion bloggers who seemed to have made peace with their bodies, they seemed so damn happy! I wanted that happiness but I felt like my body was really misbehaving.

The truth though is that there was probably nothing wrong with my body, the fault was with my mind, with my internal conversations and there was something very wrong with the fact that I had everyone else's opinion about my body in my head except for my very own opinion. Damn you society! Below are just snap shots with the phone of me looking summer time fine in that neon skirt. Lol.
